Unlimited: Listen Carefully to Jesus’ Teachings
Nov 12, 2020 472
“Consider carefully what you hear,” he continued. “With the measure you use, it will be measured to you—and even more. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them” (Mark 4:24-25, NIV).
Jesus teaches using parables: stories that illustrate spiritual truths, and he has been telling his disciples how his teachings work. He tells them to think very carefully about what he is saying.
But he tells his disciples, you have to do more than just think about his teachings: you actually have to apply them.
The more you apply his teachings in your own life, the more that Jesus will be able to teach and bless you. But if you don’t listen to, or apply, the teachings of Jesus, you will lose even the light that you have been given.
These are serious words.
In this devotional walkthrough of the Gospel of Mark, we are learning what Jesus taught.

Eli’s Reflection: I want to ask you to commit to not only thinking about the teachings of Jesus carefully, but also asking the Holy Spirit to apply them to your own life. Will you do that? Have you heard truths from the words of Jesus that you can apply to your life this week?
