One Day At A Time
Do you remember how slowly the days went by when you were a kid? Especially the summer holidays? How is it that time just seems to whoosh past these days?
That’s because, as adults, we fill our time with our everyday worries and stresses. It’s almost like the more we worry about tomorrow, the faster tomorrow comes.
In his famous Sermon on the Mount, Jesus teaches us a different way to live. He says,
“Stop worrying about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
And when the Lord’s Prayer says, “Give us our daily bread,” it means the bread that we need for today – not tomorrow – but this day.
It’s easy to focus too much on tomorrow, and to not trust God enough for today.
The secret to happiness is to trust that God will provide what we need – one day at a time.
