I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt . . . . and I am concerned about their suffering, So I have come down to rescue them . . . . So now, go. I am sending you to Pharoah to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.
Exodus 3:7-10

Wonderful news! That God sees our distress and undertakes to do something about it. God will not suffer man’s inhumanity to man forever. He acts to rescue the weak from their oppressors and establish justice in the earth.  But wait. There’s more news, but not as welcome as the former: God uses human instruments to affect his liberating agenda.  He does not let his servant Moses to remain at a safe distance from the battle zone.  Those who pray every day that God will bring the world’s sufferings to an end need to realize that they are asking God to give them a part to play in that grand task.
