Then he sent his brothers away and as they were leaving he said to them, ‘Don’t quarrel on the way’.
Genesis 45:24

Ten brothers had just undergone the most searching experience of their lives. Their younger brother, whom they had thought to kill before selling him into slavery, had sudden appeared to them as if back from the dead. Joseph had them completely in his power—but he was kind to them. Thus they endured a form of unanticipated soul-surgery.
A collective guilt often stimulates recrimination and jostling for the position of least blame. How right Joseph was to tell his brothers not to fight. In view of the grace of God, bickering in the brotherhood is the most unbefitting response possible
