“They said to God, ‘Leave us alone! What can the almighty do to us?’ Yet it was he who filled their houses with good things”( Job 22:17,18).
This verse says something about the villainy and the sheer perfidy of our species beings. There is profound and inexplicable resentment in the human psyche against God. This spirit finds contemporary voice in the mouths of those who call for God to be banished public schools, community events and political discourse. This, despite the fact that men and women live in a universe marvellously arranged to support, succour and facilitate—even their capacity to rebel.
