Blessed Rich or Poor

We all need a Saviour.

My daughter Rebecca was in Uganda a few years ago. She was providing midwifery services in rural communities. She came across this view over there that if you’re poor, then it means that God isn’t blessing you.

But this is what Paul and Barnabas said to the believers in Asia Minor:

we must suffer many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God (NLT).

Sometimes people wonder whether it’s worth following Jesus. But I’ve come to realise that I don’t need somewhat to give me what I want, but what I need. I need a Saviour.

So, why be a follower of Jesus? Well, Jesus gave us two reasons. The first is that despite the hardships, what you will have in this life will be a hundred times better than what you had before. The second reason is because in the age to come, you will enjoy eternal life. And that’s good enough for me!
