The Need of Prayer

The best kind of prayer is when you pray because you need to.
I was a weird kid. Once, I stayed awake all night to pray. I did it because someone told me to do it.
And you know what the main result was? I felt like total rubbish the next day!
Have you ever tried to pray? Why did you do it? Just because someone told you to or because other people are doing it just isn’t a good enough reason.
Jesus loves it when you talk to him, and he always wants to hear from us. He says, “Ask and it will be given to you.” Then he explains why:
If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! – v.11.
The best kind of prayer is when you pray because you need to; because you know you need it more than breathing itself!
