God Is For Us

God is for you, even when you’re not for him.
Have you ever felt like nothing’s going right? Like God isn’t really there for you?
Maybe you’ve felt like that when you’ve been lonely or discouraged, or maybe because that’s just what you’ve thought all your life: “If God exists, then he’s certainly not on my side!”
What’s the radical, central message of Christianity? Is it about living a good life so God can bless you? Is it about going to church? Not at all!
Here is the central message of Christianity: God is for you, even when you’re not for him. That’s just totally radical!
In Ezekiel 36:9, when the people think that God has turned against them because of the way they’ve misbehaved, God says to them,
Look, I am for you…
The very reason why Jesus was crucified was because he was for sinners, and not against them. And,
If God is for us, who can be against us? (Rom 8:31).
Now that’s good news!
